Unbox and Prepare Your Trézór

Check Your Package Contents

Carefully unbox your Trézór device and verify all components:

  • Trézór hardware wallet
  • USB cable
  • Recovery seed cards (2x)
  • Lanyard and stickers
  • Getting started guide
Important: Check that the holographic seal on the device is intact. This ensures your device has not been tampered with.

Prepare Your Recovery Cards

Keep your recovery seed cards in a safe place - you'll need them later in the setup process. These cards are essential for recovering your wallet if your device is lost or damaged.

Connect Your Trézór to Computer

Physical Connection

Connect your Trézór device to your computer using the provided USB cable:

  1. Plug the USB-C or Micro-USB end into your Trézór device
  2. Connect the other end to your computer's USB port
  3. Ensure you're using a direct USB port, not a hub
Tip: For best results, connect directly to your computer's USB port rather than through a hub or extension cable.

Device Recognition

Your Trézór screen should light up and display a welcome message. If it doesn't, try a different USB port or cable.

Install Trézór Suite

Download the Application

To communicate with your Trézór device, you need to install Trézór Suite:

  • Visit suite.trézór.io
  • Download Trézór Suite for your operating system
  • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
Security Tip: Always download software directly from the official Trézór website to avoid malicious copies.

Alternative: Web Version

If you prefer not to install software, you can use Trézór Suite Web at suite.trézór.io/web. The web version offers most features but may have slightly reduced functionality compared to the desktop app.

Create Your Wallet

Initialize Your Device

Follow the on-screen instructions in Trézór Suite to set up your device:

  1. Choose "Create new wallet"
  2. Select "Standard wallet" (recommended for most users)
  3. Set up a PIN code for device access
PIN Security: The PIN entry is randomized on your Trézór screen to prevent keyloggers from capturing it. Choose a PIN that's easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess.

Firmware Update

Backup Your Recovery Seed

The Most Critical Step

This step is essential for securing your funds. Your Trézór will generate a unique recovery seed:

  1. Your Trézór will display 12, 18, or 24 words (recovery seed)
  2. Write down each word in exact order on your recovery seed card
  3. Double-check that all words are spelled correctly and in the right sequence
Critical Warning: Never digitalize your recovery seed. Don't take photos, store in cloud services, or type it on any device. Anyone with your recovery seed can access your funds. Trézór support will never ask for your recovery seed.

Verify Your Backup

Trézór will ask you to confirm your recovery seed by selecting the words in correct order. This ensures you've properly recorded your backup and can recover your funds if needed.
